Many religions have evolved to be a supportive arm for many communities. Many forms of religion have given up ideological, unethical practices and have reformed the practices for the sake of social benefits. That way even though the beliefs are different Islam can still cope with common sense and the natural order of an evolving society. But Islam failed to evolve. Where?
01. The urge to govern under a different law (sharia law) which doesn't sound ethical for a society.
02. Women's right has been largely violated under religious misguidance. (Not allowed for fashion, A man can marry seven women, Undereducated and less priority given, Can't even touch another man hands for a handshake, etc)
03. Saulter animals for religious celebrations and openly encourage kids to do the same.
04. Phorbhit consumption of alcohol and pork.
05. Employees need to attend prayers on Fridays while at work where other coworkers are expected to work.
06. Loudspeakers needed to broadcast prayers in public.
these are just some of the highlights. Likewise, there are many more questionable practices. On the contrary, most of the other religions criticize and voice out regarding any fundamentalist ideologies. Eg:- when BBS raised their voice against Muslims, the majority of Sinhalese were against them as that behavior is unacceptable in Buddism.
Most of the educated Muslims have eliminated these practices and live a normal life with peace and harmony. However, there have been little to none, known actions taken by the educated Muslim community against these practices. While it has taken more of a downtrend where Muslims are more imposed to carry out unethical behavior resulting in loss of many lives including Muslims themselves. To get rid of Islam Phobia, the educated Muslim communities have to voice out to Islam administration to take actions to evolve Islam as a religion to cope with the modern needs of the society.
